Default NT Rule Book

After the visit by Bik who felt that the OT was no longer relevant and the NT was the way that xtians were a better guide of how they were supposed to behave, I thought that I would start up a rule book based on stuff in the NT.

Here are my starters for ten.

Luke 14:26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Luke 12:33
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

1 Timothy 2:9
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array

1 Timothy 2:11
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

1 Timothy 2:12
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

James

Matthew 5:17-20
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

What Would Jesus Do?

Well if you offend someone who believes in him, he'll tie a millstone around your neck and chuck you in the ocean!
Source: Mark 9:42 (KJV) and Luke 17:2 (KJV).

And he's not just messing around either - he wants you dead! "...drowned in the depth of the sea" to quote Matthew 18:6 (KJV)
