I looked after another arrogant arsehole.However,he had the saving graces of being highly intelligent, having a quick,acerbic wit, and actually being very humane.He was a nasho too. His name was Jeff Kennett. I believe he later went into politics.

I found out many years later that Jeff has had a life-long struggle with the black dog,just as I have.

leaders called for a national shutdown to protest against the possible weakening of Pakistan's blasphemy laws.
Shops were closed and roads were blocked in several cities across the country as part of strikes against the possible changes.
The government has denied it plans to scrap the death penalty for those who make offensive remarks about the Prophet Mohammed.
But the introduction of a private member's bill has drawn an angry reaction from Muslim clerics.

Seems the death penalty for blasphemy has considerable support in Pakistan.

Ya know I searched YouTube for Rachael Dunlop and it didn't find that vid... GGRRR. I had a feeling the SkepticZone crew would post it eventually.

Since I've gained an interest in the topic over the past 12 months (thanks to SkepticZone), I hope to show that clip at a 15 minute presentation at a community group over the next few weeks (just a friendly reminder for the folks who babysit their grandkids regularly to ask their GPs about booster shots).

Italy's bishops, business sector warn sex scandal harms country

ROME — The head of the influential Catholic Church in Italy has added his voice to business leaders who warn the country may pay the price for a raging sex scandal surrounding Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco dedicated much of his address to the Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) on Monday to the scandal, saying "whoever accepts a political mandate must be aware of the moderation, sobriety, discipline and honour that this involves."
"Worrying clouds are gathering once more over our country," he warned, referring to the impact of the sex scandal on top of the effects the global economic crisis have had on Italy.

But I suppose, the Vatican State could easily put a dollar figure on how sex scandals cost you money more easily than anyone else. It's cost them a fortune in payouts and legal expenses, and that's not including the damage to brand name revenue impact either.
