On my Facebook, an American friend gave me the link www.truth-saves.com to check out. (Very good Atheist site. Lots of good info.)
I couldn't get onto it on my computer, or my even work computer, but my friends from America were having NO problems getting onto it. Yesterday I went to a mates house who's IP address is not Australian. His computer was OK. I then went home and tried again. NO good. Then went through a back-door website over in the US, and got onto the site no probs (don't know if that was safe to do, or not. ie: virus's, trojan's, etc - But did it anyway). So, is it Virgin Broadband (Home) and Optus (Work) that are preventing me from checking out this awesome Atheist website (are they owned by the church like they own Sanitarium Foods), OR, the Australian Government preventing me (filtering already in place), OR, the actual site from the US that won't let Aussies get onto their site?? I don't know. All I know is, that to get onto the site, I need to change my IP address from an Aussie one, to something else, OR, go through a back-door site. Does anyone know of other web-sites that us Aussies a barred or banned from getting onto from here? (and I DON'T mean the child porn stuff either. That, I agree should be barred/banned). But, Atheist sites talking facts and truth, common!!!!??????

No problem getting to it from here, either.
I'm none too sure about the quality of information on that site. Seems they're of the Jesus Myther type: http://www.truth-saves.com/Did_Jesus_Exist.php The arguments (well, assertions, really) on that page are pretty fucking specious. Gotta pick Bugalugs up from school. I'll get back to this later if anyone's interested. |

Be warned it doesn't mask your IP address though (tried it using whatsmyip.com and it still finds my IP address) and if sites know how, they will get it.
Also, it is only useful in slow connections. Fast connections will probably be made worse. |
