I have only just discovered the world of podcasts since buying my new iPhone (great toy!) and I have instantly found a new interest. I am able to listen to these things at my leisure and driving etc... it's great so far!
I have ventured into a few science channels and such and have found some American Atheism podcasts but I was wondering if anyone has some general Atheism podcast recommendations? or anything to help my learning and understanding of the topics. Well any recommendations to be honest even if it is something random... like British Comedy, Science, audio books etc... I'm open to suggestion. Thanks in advance... popping out for dinner but I will be interested to see what others listen to and enjoy. In the same breath, if you haven't checked out podcasts then consider it if you are more an audio guy like me.

Black has beaten me to it with the Skeptics Guide to the Universe. This is a terrific podcast.
And of course we have our very own Australian one with the Skeptic Zone: http://www.skepticzone.tv/ I also enjoy a little podcast called Skeptoid by Brian Dunning. Each episode is only about 10 mins long. He's all about debunking and has a very dry delivery: http://skeptoid.com/ I don't have an iPod or an iPhone or an i-anything - I download my podcasts to my computer using a program called Juice, then I copy the files onto a CD-RW and listen to them in the car. I'm still surprised how many people don't know what podcasts are. They're a great alternative to radio and you learn HEAPS. I think Pharyngula has a podcast, but I could be wrong. You could find out by checking the site anyway. Enjoy exploring the new world of podcasts, Fearless

Guys and Gals... I have a slight problem!
I fear I might get addicted to this website www.ted.com !!! "Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world" Please if you are an information absorbing boffin from science to wonders of the world this website is definitely not one to miss. Sounds like an advert! ![]() but yeah I was able to download videos to my iPhone happily and there is some amazing stuff here... for free! Do check it out, some great stuff! p.s. It even has Dawkins! |

I've got a few of the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) talks... they're quite good.. short and sweet. AFAIK, they're sponsored by BMW (all the ones I have end in BMW ads) but that may not be exclusive.
I have a large archive of the Point of Enquiry podcasts.. they've had some really interesting speakers on there. Highly recommended. Thanks for sharing all the other links, too.. always on the lookout for this kinda stuff. I'm interested in finding more stuff from Neil deGrasse Tyson, especially. He's a fantastic, engaging, educator that lets his true passion for the science shine through. His 2 presentations at Beyond Belief 2006 are exquisite. Gary |
