Thanks for all the suggestions. I initially told them I was an atheist and the two women looked at me like I had the bubonic plague. I thought that would have done it, but apparently I need saving

Heh, I love this thread.
Last lot I had was two weeks ago on Saturday morning about 8.30. I had just walked downstairs to get myself a coffee and heard a knock on the door. Upon opening I saw two elderly ladies standing there with their books in their hands. I looked at them and said, 'oh, it's way too early in the morning for this'. They said no problem and have a nice day. I said the same to them. Wish they would turn up when I was awake. Lol.

I know this may sound weird, but for some reason I keep reading the title of this thread as "Knocking Up the Jehovah's Witnesses - All the purpose for JW's thread"

Why do we waste our breath on discussing JWs? Indeed we should not be arguing against any religion or branch of religion. We should not have to argue or defend ourselves against superstition. We should be taking up a political fight and legal fight to have religion banished, at least to be restricted to consenting adults in private. We must fight to have religious pictures banned in the workplace in the same way as nude pix are banned. Such pix are offensive, such concepts are offensive. We need to demand that politicians tell us their political position and vote accordingly, even against our normal political leanings.
Discussing JW's is wanking. As a well known philosopher and political activist stated (in German)... philosophers only interpret the world, the point is to change it. And to adapt another of his comments: atheists of the world unite - you have nothing to lose but your chains. My point: are we willing to take real action or will we just verbally masturbate using the JWs as our stimulation? Are we prepared to put our money where our mouth is? Are we willing to go on the attack instead of always being defensive? Probably not! Oops sorry, my cynacism is showing. |
