Brainwashing is a very real and dangerous thing.
(BTW, Mr P - is that video made by a Christian organisation? Reminds me of this Onion article: http://www.theonion.com/articles/for...-in-christ,838 Sums it up for me!)

How did the Koala get from Turkey to Australia?
Was Adam or Eve the colourblind one? Which one had sickle-cell anaemia? Do Angels also have free will? When did you decide to not be homosexual?

I've had three lots at my door in the last few months. My advice is to stay calm, smile and refute what they say with facts. Last JW's I had some success with the following:
Stephen Hawking's "The Grand Design" book posits that the laws of physics are all that is necessary to begin the universe. I said "so I am not saying you are wrong, just that we know from our best scientists that it isnt necessary to have a god commence it all". That seemed to take the wind out of his sails, with a muttered "oh yes we have heard of Hawkins (sic)" Another point they like to push is the earth being in the habitable zone, thus magic god made all this just for us. This can be refuted with how very easily they have found the goldilocks planet around Gliese 581. They wont concede on evolution, "only a theory" comes straight back at you. I stress that fossil evidence is probably the least important to support it. This gets rid of the missing link rebuff before it gets started. Finally, expect to feel a bit yuck after the experience. It is sad to deal with the very deluded and I feel some embarrassment and compassion for them mixed with frustration and anger. The anger comes from the fact that we encourage this garbage with tax exemptions, and the knowledge that someone in their heirarchy is pulling their strings. Hope this helps MS.

Well it must have been a day for it as my wife copped a visit at 11am this morning flashing a magazine called 'Awake' at her. These were two polite women apparently. Must be some divine connection between our households
![]() I looked up Awake out of interest as they did not identify which religion they were from before my baby told them to go away screaming. ![]() Quote:

Search for JWs and aluminium, maybe you could offer them a can of coke or something.

Don't forget that JWs use their own New World Translation of bible - some of the "difficult" verses have been retranslated to suit JW beliefs. It's hard to argue with them.

The only time I had a meaningful conversation with a JW was when the one that landed at my door was an absolute stunner with her boobs out. I think I almost converted on the spot. Hubba hubba !!

Twice I have told them not to bother coming to my house and to take me off the list of places to visit. Now they have taken to leaving their rubbish leaflets in my mail box, this time inviting me to the Currumbin Kingdom Hall on Sunday 1st May. I would love to accept their offer and bring a bunch of atheists with me!
