Default Hi

Have been a Christian bordering on mysticism, buddhism etc... for a long time, cant make up my mind about Christianity. I believe in a God but i just find it hard to view God as some old guy in the clouds....

Hi, Sidewinder. How do you describe your personal view of a god?

One of the problems with god, and particularly the christian god, is that the concept of god changes with societal development. Very few modern theologians would hold to that model of old guy in the clouds although it may have been popular at some stage. This clashes with the position that god is eternal and unchanging and the basis for morality, but it does fit in with the position that god is a human invention that changes with society.

Something like the Buddhists which isnt really a God like you find in the monotheistic religions, its basically just Light. They call it the Clear Light. The Kabbalists call it the Ain Soph which is supposed to mean Limitless Light, but thats the way i tend to perceive God.

That's interesting, if a bit esoteric. Does this god do anything?
