Duffy. As a woman you now have rights one of which is that you do not have to put up with male chauvinism. A few decades ago you might have not thought it so funny as you would have been ruled by its total acceptance. Jokes then might have not been so funny.

What is your problem with lesbians and gays wearing G string? Who gives a fuck if they wish to expose their bodies. I personally like it and even if I didn’t, then I wouldn’t watch it.

Sorry, that jokes not allowed. Might offend the private companies.

Etheist. Without power. Are you attempting to be clever. It did not succeed.

Can't say that one either. Might upset the Byrd.

Etheist. I read about Atheism the other day. Atheism is not an automatic inoculation against idiocy, but its consensus is better than any other method.

You push that point to the limit but it still hold true beside your insensitivity.

You obviously do not understand the concept of unequal sides when one side is powerless.
You assume too much Byrd.

Let me guess...

One side is powerless (or without power). So the other is the more powerful.

That makes it unequal.

And your point is?

I don't put up with male chauvinism. However the way I conducted myself in that environment changed the way I was valued within the workplace, not by running to the powers that be at every silly joke. Sticks and stones Jonathon. I have made life long friends of many of male colleagues and I like to think we are both richer from the experience. I mean, I had my own predjudices to deal with. Who would guess that an exSAS officer liked to knit during early morning shifts!

Where did you read that I had problems with gays wearing g-strings? Read it again. I said that the mardi-gras promotes the stereotype. If the gay community don't care, fantastic woohooo, we are all happy. But if you are going to point us out for perpetuating a stereotype then swing your arm their way too.

Thank you for turning this thread into an issue.

It was meant to be a bit of fun and left at that.

But you know.

Thanks.

Thanks a lot.

Anything else you want to ruin today?

Or are you done?
Etheist, sometimes you can start something off that is so innocent. And it just rolls along digressing this way and that. Isn't that just like evolution, and how exciting is that? Nothing ruined, just some spice added to the already enjoyable main meal.

Duffy. Are you purposely missing the point. You have gained in status because the 'jokes' of the last century were deemed inappropriate. It is the mild put downs that kept women in the kitchen and bedroom for yonks.

You wouldn't have mentioned the 'gay stereotype' if it was not to your liking. Who cares what same sex oriented people do to gain attention. They are fighting a ubiquitous homophobia and anything they do that is not violent. is OK by me and a gaining majority of Australians.

I think you are being a tad defensive.
