This really does not surprise me, it's not like the components of water are unique to earth in the entire universe.

I think the surprise is more to do with water existing in the environment of the moon what with sod all atmosphere and scorching solar day time temperatures . So the key here is look in the shaded areas.

Water itself is a simple compound and providing conditions are right will exist throughout the universe, our biggest problem is finding it in a usable form.

Great news, but...

Just curious.. we've found uses for it in all 3 forms here on Earth (solid, liquid and gas). What other "tangible" forms (ie not plasma, Bose-Einstein condensate, or Fermionic condensate) are there, perchance ?

Surely, if it's in any of those commonly known forms, we can develop the miniaturised/lightened technology to utilise it !
