Is there any chance of a 20016 event? This might give us some time to prepare for it.
Three events in under six months already:

- Dawkins and Cannold
- Unholy Trinity
- Robin Ince

AFA have also lent support in a variety of ways to other groups like Think Inc and that Boghossian tour that's heading out soon.

Please feel free to advertise the Ince tour in the meantime, to help make future events feasible, is my strong opinion.
The AFA have been running several "smaller" (and I use inverted commas, because they were still bloody hard work for all involved) over the last six months or so. The GACs, as amazingballs as they were, take a significant amount of time, blood, sweat and tears to organise. It is something we are examining, but in the meantime, please support our "smaller" events as they make the big ones feasible.

The GAC's were run by the old guard of the AFA. As far as I know, no-one of the organisers of GAC 1 and 2 is still part of the committee. I've heard nothing about a GAC being held anywhere else in the coming years.

I know djarm is keen, or was a few years ago. It's a fucking nighmare to organise. I wouldn't try it, especially given that some 'leading lights' are demanding upwards of ten grand t appear and speak these days. I'd tell 'em to fuck off happily, and get in people who just wanted to tell the stories that need to be told.
I'd pay to hear a live reading of a Goldenmane rant. He can even hide behind one of those TISM costume or have a stand in, that'd be fun.
Oh, you flatter me.

I'd be happy to do public rants. As it happens, those who listen to the AFA podcast from this month on will get a bit of a taste of that, with the introduction of "Goldenmane's Fulmination" - which seems to have become a potentially monthly segment. First fulmination is about SRI in schools. Second (which I'm writing now) will be about blasphemy laws.

And you get this for free, people! Subscribe to the podcast, and more than that contribute to it.

Don't we have a thread for that? I thought we had a thread for that.

....

Hang on, did you just suggest that you'd pay money to see me rant whilst wearing a gimp suit?

Just posted about new side-gigs for the Ince show over at:

http://atheistfoundation.org.au/foru...137#post520137

(P.S got to see Ince at both the bookclub get-together and the Perth show and it was bloody brilliant. And not just because I was running around helping with the show!)

Almost everything, certainly on the west coast. Tour wouldn't have happened without TS's efforts.

I will vouch for that!

Lol. We had a wicked crew, plus the bonus of a wicked time over 2010-2012, I'm not sure if that could be repeated.
Saying that, I've been spending most of my days organising conventions, events you name it. So built on the experience. Even having had the experience of those two conventions and understanding the amount of work involved, I would say it's all about who's on the team. You really need top notch people on the team.

Plus all the planets aligning hehehe

I get to see all the stuff behind the scenes, and gotta say AFA has really stepped up a notch.

I would love to participate in one of the conventions, yet I know little of what goes on. Were I to be involved, I would somebody to show me the ropes. But that it a long way off yet. I still live in a dark closet surrounded by the religious.
