Rotten - dot - com has pix of such stuff, as does Bangedup - dot - com (assuming the latter is still around).
Yeah I have seen that stuff as well. Really really disturbing. Saw it years ago. Didn't know it was still around.

@ Eclectic, I have been to Kakadu and on the crocodile boat. It is actually a bit freaky because they think if you fall out of the boat, you have maybe 20 seconds before a croc gets you, which isn't enough time to get back into the boat. So you kinda sit in the boat and realise " If I fell out now, I would die". They really are scary animals.

I quite like Rotten's library - potted histories of weirdness. But yeah, the grizzly pix stuff no longer attracts my morbid fascination.

@ Eclectic, Heard a story when I was there about a tourist that got taken. Apparently there were about 20 of them with a guide in a waterhole that had not been cleared by National Parks so they shouldn't have been there. They were all standing in a big circle in the water when the person got taken. It brushed past one person before taking another. Anyway they all got out and because it was late afternoon they could not find the person. So National parks get a boat and have to try and find the body the next morning. They found the croc on the river bank with the body ready to be eaten ( it seems crocs cannot eat under water) so they fired a warning shot to get it away and within minutes there were about 10 more on the bank to eat the body. They had to gaff ( big fish hook) the body to get it back into the boat. Left them quite traumitised from what I hear.

I think the worst fear for me, is realising my body has been distorted. eg, from a bad fall, or heavy objects fall on me. Imagine, rubbing your head, and finding brain matter on your hands.
If Mr Perv's suggestions are too in your face then just watch one of Peter Jackson's earliest films

Bad Taste: Plot - The population of a small town disappears and is replaced by aliens that chase human flesh for their intergalactic fast-food chain.

Braindead: Plot - A young man's mother is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey. She gets sick and dies, at which time she comes back to life, killing and eating dogs, nurses, friends, and neighbors.

The Cars that Ate Paris: Peter Weir's contribution to surreal cinema, before he started with Duran Duran film clips.

I actually don't care how I die. I'm just afraid of being pumped full of preservatives, and placed in a big sealed box for a billion years. The idea of having all my biomatter imprisoned like that scares me. I want to be recycled.

well that leads to the next question,

we as a society have what can only be described as an extravagant "body disposal service, seemingly as if we weren't content to chew up resources in our life we also appear to have the last fling as it were.

now of course we need to have a regulated funeral system, simply to prevent dubious characters slipping the of "preemptive" body into the system

we already have so called earth friendly funeral options should we go further??

should we stop wasting land that the living could better use rather then the dead hoarding this land?

the card board box is attractive to me but it still wastes land in a conventional burial, cremation and scatter the ashes and please no worldly urns to clutter the life's of the living.

conversion to a bio friendly matter that could be used for organic purposes is actually very attractive.

at the end of the day (pun intended) I wont care but to me it doesn't make sense that we need to wast the earth in our death, we do enough of that whilst we live.

thoughts anyone??

I heard a recent news report from Israel about the lack of buriel space available. Seems they all have to be buried and now they are seriously running out of space and are looking into burying people on top of each other. It would mean a change in the way their religion deals with these things.

Stupid stupid stupid.
