Default 05 Sherlock Holmes Mafia Day 3

This morning, the fog is thick and impenetrable. Who is that lying spreadeagled awkwardly in the middle of Trafalgar Square, blood pooling from a single rifle shot wound to the head?

Can it be the (not so) long arm of the law...??

Lord Blackadder was Detective Inspector Lestrade, a sympathetic, if somewhat incompetent, police associate of the great Holmes. He had a one-shot Day Investigation, and had started to become a rallying point for town...

But what's all this, then?

There is a scream from a nearby alleyway, and the group turns, holding their breath, to find another body - that of a sexy and mysterious woman - lying glass-eyed in a gutter, having been strangled to death...

Davo was Irene Adler, and Holmes should have heeded the old adage about a woman scorned. Irene has been using her feminine wiles to seduce and confuse the citizens of London, acting as scum roleblocker for Moriarty.

Woah. If Lord Blackadder hadn't over-compensated in "good guy" style, she may still be around.

I have this remarkable feeling about being slightly frustrated by something I wanted . Based on accepting LBA's position I had mentally drafted a proposal that we vote equally for davo and LP, to see if a third scum tried to save one just in case there was an innocent. No such information will be obtained now but at least someone has kept the numbers where they need to be, a good working majority for town. Best of all, LBA's analysis is confirmed over my lingering doubts of yesterday.

Sorry people, but clues are being missed by some, including:

In retrospect, this was a definite clue. Davo, being scum, had indeed escaped by the skin of his teeth.
Reading Bolero's eulogy for the detective:

Why "somewhat incompetent"? It makes sense only if LBA was suspecting the wrong person.

Well, LBA wasn't wrong about davo, but is wrong about me.

And I suggest looking at davo's voting behaviour yesterday... staying under the radar until the very last, no late voting switches but little outward involvement and analysis for scum-hunting. Just claimed to "vote along with the crowd" about loubert. I, on the other hand, have been reasonably active in looking for scum.

Getting the scum roleblocker was great, but we lost 2 good townies in the process. Can't keep doing that. The good thing is that we still have Holmes and a town vigilante (who got the scum roleblocker).

At least Irene is no longer around to confuse everybody. And given she was a roleblocker, it's good that she's gone.
