We wandered on up to Fed Square last night also, when it started there was probably only about 200 there. Ben Price not as big a draw card as they had expected!

I walked through Fed Square on my way to meet friends at around 7:15pm and I reckon there wouldn't have been any more than 100 or so people gathered around the stage. Certainly not 4000 anyway.
Sorry - very tired. I thought you were asking for GAC numbers.

That's okay, LBA.

Clearly the GAC was a resounding success and the Undeniable rally was pretty much a failure (going by number anyway)

I wouldn't say the Undeniable rally was a failure. I think there were a good 300 christians there. The presentation itself was slick and typical of a pentecostal worship service. Plus I think it was a last-minute organization, so I was surprised so many turned up.

Undeniable's website says this: Thousands of Christians converged on Fed Square on Sunday night, 15th April for an exciting night of music and comedy.
There's a photo that shows a BIG crowd.
So are Undeniable lying (surely not!) or was there really a big turnout and the estimate of 300 max on this thread is a big underestimation?

http://undeniablemelbourne.com/photos-from-the-event/

I was surprised to find that Undeniable had (at least until yesterday) left my comment to them on their website when so many others said theirs had disappeared. I tried to strike a balance between not offending them but pointing out that I thought it was a little odd for them to be fighting god's battles for him since he's proved himself adequate to the task in times past. Their beef seemed to be that we were trying to wrench their (god botherers') city out of the hands of the righteous ("not on our watch!" they said on the website).

On the day I left, I was waiting for a luggage shop to open and sat on a bench outside the shot where a bloke was selling The Big Issue. We got talking and he wanted to know why I was visiting Melbourne. When I told him he replied that he was a Christian and I though "Oh oh ... here we go!" But I was wrong. We had a very interesting conversation in which I learned the value of having been to GAC and especially listening to Krauss -- when the talk turned to 'why is there something rather than nothing'.
This interaction with a moderate Christian -- friendly and respectful -- will remain one of my happy memories of GAC. This bloke thanked me for 'the insights' and he seemed to genuinely mean it. It was an excellent PR moment for both of us. My hope is that if ever one of his Christian buddies starts mouthing off over the bloody atheists he'll be able to say he met one of us and that we're not nearly as evil as we're cracked up to be.

If you click on the "Photos from the event" tab on their website there is a collection of photos which do seem to genuinely show a fairly substantial number of people attending their rally. They look like they are having a good time - lots of smiling faces and the inevitable hands outstretched towards heaven pose.

They must have all been late comers! When we left there wouldn't have even have been half the crowd shown in the photos. I'm thinking "thousandS" is more than a little stretch of the truth however!

Yes, I underestimated when I said 300. I went back to check my own photos and video from the event to confirm there were quite a number of people, though you guys have already posted the link to photos on the Undeniable website.

It was definitely a large crowd. In fact there was even a celebrity:
