If you watch this clip carefully you can see an escape of trolleys (a close relative of the Lemming) from their captors.

@Fearless

I don't suppose you have similar footage with each trolley containing a baby or small child?

I don't know about this. I mean, yeah, alot of bible names were used. But heck, to me, it's just an 'irony'; probably what the writer had in mind.

God did not stop, machines from rulling the earth and couldn't careless. In the end it was a man's own decision that ultimately saved the day. All this was predicted by Oracle a program, that would not be possible if god was involved.

The star of the show Keanu, I believe is a buddhist. If you would notice all of his movies has a secret message in it.... "Does god really exist??"

Even in Constantine (yeah that one rocks too. check out my Avatar), he plays a character that couldn't give a damn about god or the devil, just in human right and wrong. And since they do exist, he just tries his best to work around their stupidity. "What you mean I have to suffer on earth?". Shows the middle finger and smokes a fag.

What the movie is basically saying is; luckily god and the devil does not exist. If they did, we would have all these petty quarrels.

Correct me if I'm wrong, cause it's been sometime since I watched matrix. loved it too.

Hello 'The Cross'. Welcome to Fantasy Island.

You are obviously a theist, but don't make the mistake of calling yourself a Christian. You can believe what you want to believe mate, but don't confuse the issue by claiming to be a Christian when you quite clearly have limited respect for the bible and for Christ. You are liberal and basically explain the bible away to the point where it has no meaning at all. You have established yourself as an authority over the bible and it is because of this that you think you know better than God. You have not said this and would probably deny it, but your low view of Scripture implies this.

I'm open for discussion with you on this forum, but just so everyone knows from the beginning, you and I aren't playing on the same team.

I've read the posts in this thread and many of the atheists have already identified the flaws in your thinking. The bible is quite clearly not allegorical. Admittedly, some aspects of it are, but the 66 books overall are predominantly historical. I understand that the atheists on this forum think they are not historical either, because they think the bible is a total load of bull. However, at the very least they would agree that the writing genre is predominately historical with some exceptions. You simply do not do any justice whatsoever to the Scriptures when you place it in allegorical and existential cateogories alone.

Well fundamentally Matrix is an exploration of the 'Brain in a Vat' idea. But there are religious connotations a plenty. The most obvious being Trinity's penchant for answering any comment of "God!" with "yes?".

Actually, I think most of us would describe the "writing genre" as mythological with almost no exceptions.

Actually I'd be willing to concede that there are some historical facts in there but are laden with so much mythology, corruption and imagination that it get's lost in all the nonsense, though in saying that, the few historical parts are probably at best, insignificant to the human race.
