Personally, I've made no secret of my fondness for emoticons and I genuinely believe the forum would benefit from a few more.

However, it was decided long ago not to add any more emoticons to the forum. Some of this reason is that animated emoticons are not well tolerated by some of our members for various reasons, and another part of the reason is that, quite simply, the main people who run the forum just don't like them, don't see the necessity of them and have no intention of adding any more.

The official line is that we should be able to express ourselves via words. I agree with this, however I still do love emoticons, I can't lie, and will be first in line jumping with excitement if we ever got any more.

So basically, live with it
Eye kan ackchoolie expressed miselph via wurdz but itt taces two many, where a luttel smilie wood doo betta and zave times.

Hehe, if the Qantas analogy held throughout, this would be the juncture at which the entire AFA Forum emoticon fleet was grounded until further notice... a smiley lockout, basically.

(lucky the analogy doesn't hold throughout, eh... )

You know something I find interesting is that even though it is difficult for me to tell how people feel based on whatever facial expressions they make, I find it quite easy to distinguish between emoticons. I presume that the tooltips they provide and their "" type names have something to do with it, but I find them easier to handle than facial expressions.

That being said of course CAPS LOCK, words and big size text is always a better option than animated GIF smiley. You hear that Podblack?
