Default Deaths (Not Directly Atheism-Related)

The forums haven't had a single source for death announcements which aren't atheism-related.

How about I start one?

First entry, guitar legend Greg Allman, gone at 69 years.

Thanks for the music.

ALL deaths are atheism-related. This is the price of not subscribing to the magic sky daddy-one has to die!

Of course, all theists that die didn't believe hard enough, or called Yahweh an asshole, or summat.

Death is related to atheism in a manner that is indirect. I can provide a super-specialised assessment by virtue of logical reasoning to ascertain that such a relation has its verity as such.

It is that first of all death is inevitable and applies to every lifeform including atheists. Atheists are categorically related to the word atheism, which describes one's position in regards to god. Since atheists are humans and humans face inevitable death, indirectly, death is atheism-related.

TIMB, please confirm that you consider the above-reasoned argument tenable.

Azu, you do not need my confirmation.

Please accept that I put this thread here merely to list deaths of people who are not identifiable members of the atheist community, yet might be of interest to readers here.

It is simply that: a notice-board, not a discourse or lecture series.

Manuel Noriega, a rather entrepreneurial kind of politician.

Quote:
Manuel Noriega, the Panamanian military dictator who often played opposing sides of Cold War-era political battles, until he was ousted by his on-again, off-again sponsors and toppled in a US invasion, has died. He was 83.Noriega operated as a spy for the CIA, laundered money for Colombian drug traffickers and worked in support of leftist movements in Latin America like Nicaragua's Sandinistas - only to also help in US efforts to fight them.

Wallace is gone.

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-40165443

Quote:
Peter Sallis has died at the age of 96, his agents have announced. The actor was best known for appearing in Last of the Summer Wine and was also famous as the voice of Wallace in Wallace and Gromit.

His agent confirmed he died peacefully with his family by his side. Sallis played Norman "Cleggy" Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine from its first episode in 1973 until the series concluded in 2010. He was the only actor to appear in all 295 episodes of the sitcom.

Peter Sallis was best known as the mild-mannered Norman Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine. By the time he first appeared in the role he had already carved out a distinguished career in the theatre and on television. His role as the flat-capped philosopher made him the longest-serving cast member of the much-loved series.

And he reached an even wider audience as the voice of Wallace, the cheese-loving character in the animated series, Wallace and Gromit.

Paddy McGuinness led tributes to the actor on Twitter, writing: "RIP the great Peter Sallis. #CrackingToast" - the hashtag a reference to one of Wallace's catchphrases.
Cheese will be served tonight in his honour.

Adnan Khashoggi -gorn! - I wonder how many guns will fire at that funeral.

Quote:
http://www.bbc.com/news/business-40180931 Adnan Khashoggi: Saudi billionaire arms dealer dies aged 82 30 minutes ago From the section Business Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi, a billionaire businessman known for his lavish lifestyle, has died in London at the age of 82. His family said in statement that he died peacefully while being treated for Parkinson's disease. Mr Khashoggi became one of the world's richest men in the 1970s and '80s by brokering international arms deals. His parties were legendary, often lasting for days, but there was also controversy about his business. A statement from the family on Tuesday said: "He lived his last days surrounded by his devoted family, children and grandchildren, with the same elegance, strength and dignity that characterised his remarkable life. He is survived by his wife Lamia. "AK was a pioneer who achieved global recognition in a golden age through his extraordinary business achievements and renowned generosity. Our father understood the art of bringing people together better than anyone. "He combined commercial acumen with an over-riding loyalty to his country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His work always furthered the interests of his country." He most famously brokered arms deals between US firms and Saudi Arabia in the 1960s and 70s. Mr Khashoggi, whose late sister Samira was married to former Harrods chief Mohamed Al Fayed, was an uncle of Princess Diana's final love, Dodi Fayed.
