@Two Dogs, I might have bought a beer for us to share next time you are up. $29.00 for 375 ml. Ouch. But 18.4% It's definitely a sharer.
...
I'm looking forward to it! I expect I'll enjoy it more than the 2014 Jumping the Shark, which was an oak-barrel aged, saffron infused, red ale, which was a bit over the top for me (but I guess that's why they're called Jumping the Shark).

Yep, hoping this is a bit more manageable.

I'm not having a beer, but I'm in a cute little pub in a small village in England about 1.5 hours NW of London enjoying a glass of coke.

I really wanted to take a photo and share but can't put this on Facebook because I'm here for a heart transplant assessment and I still haven't told my mum I need a transplant.

So I apologise for using the forum as an outlet for my narcissism -- just until I figure out a good enough cover story to tell my Mum why I've started going to a remote village outside of London for no apparent reason...

It's a gastronomic pub?

Not meaning to derail this thread but GB, I don't think you should hide this from your mum.

Fun pub trivia fact though -- this village was apparently founded by an ex-pat NSWelshman and the hospital was his manor that he donated to the Australian Government in 1914 as a 200 bed ANZAC WW1 hospital.

Apparently immediately on open there were over 1000 ANZAC soldiers admitted and 20,000 over the war.

It was called the Australian Hospital..

Pretty cool to be sent here I love how much history everything has over here

It's my biggest beer ever. And hides the alcohol (18.4%) quite well.

But only one tonight.
