Been perving closely at the sexual organs of various plants.

0511 this morning. Kauri, the male possum whose territory includes our yard, decides to tell Dog v2.0 and me he was working this side of the street first.

The light was nice for macro-shooting plants...

Mister Superb Fairy-Wren, in his matin' and datin' outfit, paid more than fifteen visits to my bird feeder today, and he's not even a seed eater.

While I suspect the wrens come for a few bugs, that may in turn come for the grain, I am beginning to think Mr Wren may have some interest in the blue clothes-peg I parked there (mainly so the dog wouldn't pick it up and chew it).

I put fifteen of his visits (timed between 1017 and 1522) up on Imgur here.

For tomorrow, I may move the peg up the feeder, and see if Mr Wren turns up and sits on top.

From a few minutes ago: Black-Faced Cuckoo-Shrike being fed on the wing.

Camera in left hand, tucker thrown upwards with right.

Sometimes three of these guys are competing for aerial refuelling with a couple of butcherbirds, all at once.

While Dog v2.0 was busy costing us money at the vet's, I was outside, watching a rainbow lorikeet, as it enjoyed a xanthorrhea flower.

More astute observers will notice one of Dog's hairs has worked its way into the lens. Bloody photobombing hound! (I got it out later.)

Dog v2.0 got an afternoon walk, but I neglected to tell her that possums are nocturnal...

...so, she woke Canteloupe from his/her little nook. Poor wee bugger!

Here is a smug Dog, walking the railway underpass, as is her wont.
