the bottom of the animated graph is zero, no ice, this will only be a record and not in itself a concern as the sun will already be low in the Arctic, the worry is during the month of july when the sun is highest, loss of sea ice at that time will both heat the ocean even more and also reduce the amount of albedo. the zero september minimum will however be a harbinger, but will we take notice? that is the question. the loss of july ice may take til 2040. then again it may not.
