A flauntist is someone who plays the flute.

TEVW is sending you a steely stare. Apparently one is only a flauntist if one does Jethro Tull numbers standing on one leg.

It peeves me orf when a friend on FB or someone in the media says something like; "it's a shame to loose him/her so young."

It's a delicate matter, so you can't really correct them.

From MSN -
Tunnel of despair’: The faces of rising motorcycle death toll

'Statistics show a 54 percent increase in deaths and an 80 percent increase in serious injuries for motorcyclists aged 50 and over, between 2007 and 2016.
Among that number, but so much more than a statistic, is Phil Waesch - a good friend of A Current Affair crime editor Simon Bouda, himself a keen motorcycle rider.
Mr Waesch's widow Sue said he was always "so careful".
He died during a charity ride two years ago, suffering a medical episode and running off the road at a slow speed in the Snowing Mountains.'

On the off chance there was a mountain range called the 'Snowing Mountains' somewhere in Aus, i did a search and came up with nothing.
So, quite a poor mistake.

ABC News on telly: Diamonds netball team coach - "We're looking for small, tiny, increments."

I loves me a tautology.

WIN TV News, Toontown edition: "Eight men and three women take their own lives every day..."

You'd think they'd stop at once.

Queensland Police Service reporting has a language all its own:

Quote:
On arrival, a 59-year-old man was discovered out the front of the business with a broken leg.
... not to be confused with any other business.

Quote:
Just before 7.20am, police were called to Gympie Road, between Somerset Road and Broughton Road, following reports that a woman had been struck by a car in the northbound lanes.
... I had a splinter there, once.
