Sorry quick question. I have an iPhone and 2 computers I use to access the forum and am wondering if I log out say on my phone will that log off the other computers as well? It's just that I noticed I'm showing as online when I'm not. I actually have to log on again to post. Is it something to do with tapatalk?

I dunno fishie, I have no probs with my computer keeping a log-on, but my brain keeps on going off-line.
I do know if you have several windows open and log out on only one, you still have the other windows logged in. I dunno about evul Tappy-talk, which is the work of the devil.

If you are logged on a computer and are using remember me or refreshing using who's online you will stay logged on. Then if you log on using your phone and log out with your phone it will revert to your computer which is still logged on. If you aren't using remember me or a refresh eventually you will be logged out of the computer. Tapa stays logged in all the time from my understanding. You need to close tapa or log out to get a log out.

Ok starting to make sense. I have only ever used this forum and just kinda thought that logged out was logged out of the forum not just logged out on one particular computer.
I have one of those plug in little Internet sticks for my laptop which will time out if I wander off and I have to log on again. Will this really be logging me out of the forum, or just the lap top? I'm so not great with Internet magic.

I just found the lock feature for tapatalk that's a bit nifty. I think I may possibly be a little blasé regarding logging off. I will be more vigilant as all my computers are quite public.

Yes it will log you out of the forum on that computer. You could be still logged in some place else.

Yes please if using publicly accessible computers. Log out of public computers and don't click remember me.
With the phone, I use the phone lock.

Mjt, try this with your phone, click the centre button twice quickly, that will show what apps are still running in the background. I always close tapa on my phone when not using it.

FWIW, I just tested this by logging out of Tapa on my iPhone while also logged in on 'puter, and when I refreshed my brower I was logged off there also. Until I refreshed, it looked like I was still logged in onscreen.

I also find that if I log out of one browser window, forum logins in other open browser windows will also show as logged out, when refreshed.

Conditions: I don't tick the "Remember Me" box, and I actually hit the "Logout" button in Tapa, rather than just closing the app.

As wolty says, 'puter security is bloody important, especially where others will have access to that computer.

I think perhaps for most of the time, (except my day off when I have it all to myself) my lap top will stay logged off. I do find it easier to use than the phone, and I do tend to pop in and out while at work, but I guess better safe than sorry.
Thanks guys, now I get the whole logged in from different places thing. Pretty simple when its explained
