Former rocker and now National Party member Angry Anderson says he is definitely interested in seeking preselection for the federal seat of Gilmore as the tit-for-tat dispute between the Liberals and Nationals over NSW seats escalates.

Mr Anderson, the former frontman of the band Rose Tattoo, has the backing of the NSW Nationals, including Senator John Williams.

"I would suggest that Angry Anderson should run for the Nationals in Gilmore," Senator Williams said. "What's more, he would win it."

Mr Anderson joined the Nationals about a year ago.
"I like the Nationals as a party, I like their morals and they have a strong Christian component," he said.

Angry is running for parliament fort the Nationals? Funny,I have never thought of him as especially stupid. Well,the terms 'rockstar' and 'highly intelligent' are not usually seen together.

My favourite geriatric rockstar is Keith Richards, arguably the most elegantly wasted person on the planet.

Does Anderson believe in an omniscient God? ''No,'' he laughs. ''And as much as that might put me offside with members of any political party - I don't believe God has a gender, for a start … the spirituality I have given myself over to is the divine … [but] for want of a better term, it's God.''

It might be quite revealing to ask Angry what, exactly, that "strong Christian component" and those "morals" entail, as far as he's concerned?
