This is a recent shot of my gorgeous, almost 16-year-old, at a friend's birthday party. The pic is significant for two reasons: one, he is unselfconsciously laughing and two, he is at a party with some very close friends and that's a big achievement for an Asperger's kid. I miss him terribly and don't see him nearly enough. He's smart, funny and gorgeous and has a healthy skepticism about pretty much everything. Most recently he denounced homeopathy as "stupid magic water". I'm so proud of him and love him so much
Ahh wonderful stuff, I cant wait for my two to get to the stage they can start critically analysing things.
Right now Mr4yr old has a super active imagination so Reality gets a bit bent around him :-P
I don't want to wear that down yet, I'll wait for him to broach the subjects if and when they come up.

Glad to hear that the hippy school hasn't done much damage. Who knows, it might be quite useful...

I got the first (yet fully expected ) indication during the same phone call about the road trip that he won't be at Hogwarts past this year and that he'll be plonked into the local high school to do his VCE. Quelle fucking surprise.

I'll bet he (son) doesn't even know about this yet. This is how his father works.

Don't want to discuss further as either my head will explode or something I like will be irrepairably damaged

My 16 year old would never let me post a pic here. So you will have to take my word for it that he is even more handsome now than when some of you met him at the last GAC. Sadly he is not joining us this time. Guess that just means I get to party without fear of embarrassing him.

cheers, Karen
