Guess you'll have it by about Tuesday or Wednesday. Welcome to Nexyland, where 7 inches has never been so good. Sent from the Nexus 7 that I'm keeping.

So time for an update I suppose. Nexus arrived, had to drive out to the airport to pick it up as I stupidly put home address for delivery and then couldn't change it to the work one after it was shipped. Unpacked and charged up, fire it up and.....
SCREEN ISSUE!! ![]() I am going out in solidarity with you CT, and have found a bit of a new issue, it has very noticeable light spots along the LHS of the screen, almost like little spot lights shining in from different parts of the screen. Very hard to photograph but hopefully you see what I mean. ![]() Massive pain in the bum as we are off O/S on Friday, and then I start a new job after we are back so not sure I want to be getting things shipped to me there just yet. Grrrr.

All 3 units I received were half charged so opening the box and firing it up shouldn't pose any problems. I doubt that you'll get the replacement before Friday though. I ![]() Sent from the Nexus 7 that I'm keeping.

I am pretty happy with that as at least I can use it while we are away, it is annoying but not unusable. Just frustrating playing and setting it all up knowing I will have to start from scratch again in a week! Ah well, such is life. So far very happy with it screen issues aside, and I did get the $25 play store credit. ![]() A bit surprising on the storage side of things though, on windows it shows up as only having 13.2GB available, I know they are never the full 16 as claimed, but that seems to be a lot missing to me?

*Update*
I have now received an email from Google saying they have not received the original Nexus 7 I sent back to them. I followed their procedure to the tee, so fuck knows where it's gone. Just when you think it's over, they drag you back in.

Interesting, I have not had much fun trying to get mine replaced either. Full story to follow once I'm on my computer.

So my thrilling update/whinge as promised. Once we got back from NZ I replied to my original email from google to advise that I was ready to replace my device. After two days of no response I rang through to their call centre and was advised that it takes a few days to issue the web link for a replacement device.
Seems a bit strange but ok. So 2 days later an email with a link arrives and I click it to order my replacement Nexus 7. Now I discover they put a $300 credit hold on my card in case the fault turns out to have been caused by me (despite me emailing them the same night I picked up the device) ok still a bit weird but fair enough I suppose. Enter stupid me who left my home address instead of my work address (they only deliver during business hours when i'm not home). Now I am stuck in an endless loop of google reps telling me they cant change the delivery address, they can't cancel my order for me, and all they can do is wait for me to cancel the order when they will place me in the queue for another replacement device. The instructions the rep gave me to cancel my device were completely wrong (apparently they had changed the system since he last did it) so eventually I found a section that said "change your delivery address" bingo I thought, fill that out and got an email confirming my request. Two more days, no response to my request, no device shipped, surely it shouldn't be this hard? Or maybe I have just created my own situation.

Gahh. Still stuck in the loop, I realised we will have a friend staying with us all next week, so they could just deliver it to the home address. But still can't get any response to my emails to cancel the request for address change. Talking to the people on the phone achieves nothing, as they can't change any of those details.
![]() I know most of this is my own creation, but it seems way too hard to get an answer out of anyone. Interestingly they list a Sydney number for "Google Asia Pacific" on the invoice. I called the number and was told they don't deal with devices. When I asked why the number was on my invoice I was told "misprint". Interesting the misprint has been there for at least 3 weeks as it was on my original invoice, as well as the one for the replacement device. I wonder if it is there for other purposes eg. tax benefits.

Any luck CT with them finding your faulty unit? I wonder if that will be the next fun I have, but at the moment I still can't even get a replacement device sent out. I was fed up of waiting by friday, after being told my issue had been "escalated" and etc. So I rang and told them I just wanted to cancel this order and start again from scratch, ah but here's the brilliance, they can't cancel the order until I have a shipping tracking number, but that's the whole problem, it has been sitting there for over a week without shipping!
So I have once again been escalated to a specialist who will fix the order (for the third time). The thing that annoys me the most, is that I was told the reason for the hold up is the email I sent requesting a delivery address change, since they can't change delivery address after purchase. Fair enough, but then why have the specific option for the customer to fill out!? Nobody can answer me that. For interest below is the screen I went to and requested the change, seems like they make it a pretty clear option to me. ![]()
