Frustratingly I can't remember.

The nickname likens the U2 to a large, clumsy bird.

Something like "Loose Goose" or "Tin Albatross".

I think those birds were notorious for losing fuel from the wings. "Sieve-Boy?" But that name has already been taken, although the USAF could not have known it would be claimed by a godless heathen!

You may be thinking of the SR-71 (Blackbird) which flew over 4 times faster than the U-2, at 3,540 km/h? I found this via Google:
Like most aircraft, the SR-71 kept its fuel in wet wing tanks to maximize volume. But the heat of sustained supersonic flight made it hard for the engineers to find a sealant that would allow the tanks to hold their contents both cold and hot. So hard, in fact, that they never did solve the problem. No suitable sealant could be found or made. So they simply accepted that, on the ground, the aircraft would leak through the gaps in the skin and when the aircraft "warmed up", literally, the gaps would expand and close.

I think that you are thinking of the "Spruce Goose" that Howard Hughes built? It was made of timber and is the largest plane ever built.
