I live in Sweden, which is probably one of the most secular countries in the world. This usually means that one does not have to be very brave to say that you are an atheist. I grew up in Sweden's second largest city, Gothenburg, and at my school was almost not a single pupil who was on open believer. Then it is easy to think that everyone had built a wall against medieval thinking and instead had a scientific basis. Unfortunately this isnīt the case. If you are debating on a deeper level, you will rather find many variants of superstition. I believe that in a modern society itīs just as important to debate such ideas as openly religious
