I'm just discovering the world of atheism. I'm not sure exactly where I would place myself just yet.
Ahoyz and welcome, Katie.

Hello Katherine, having not bothered reading the entire thread yet are you indeed an Atheist yet?

I actually thought you might be a buddy of mine who likes to call me Katherine but I can't see the pic of you well enough. The hairstyle looks similar and I think he also lives in a godless pit although I've never asked

If I had to classify myself right at this very moment in time I would have to say yes, I'm an atheist. Much of the time I am able to remain calm, sane and rational but sometimes there are moments when I wonder... I find that it's quite a challenge on occasion to unbelieve because of the force of habit. I have an agnostic element too because I don't believe any individual ever gets the luxury of knowing the whole story, regardless of the situation. With the evidence that I have though, I would have to say I don't see any evidence of a supernatural being.

Lately I imagine what life would have been like if I'd been brought up in an atheist society and that helps me quite a lot.

How about you Avignale?

It's alright, I understand, sometimes out of habit, and human weakness, we tend to have some superstitious believes as well. But it matters not, as long as we rasionally know what is truth, and that belief is merely to calm our nerves.

Hello again Katie,

Have you given any thought to what you would like your next thread to be about? Maybe you could ask questions about those things that you are still trying to figure out. A lot of people go through grieving process when they start realizing how so many things about religion just don't add up. You should talk about how it makes you feel.

A lot of people go through grieving process when they are thinking about what their first thread should be titled and what the content of the first post of their first thread should be about too...

Well Katie, if you are worried about this just let me assure you. The people here have all been through this and they are all very nice. They are not judgmental about such surface things. You have nothing to worry about. Just put it out there. After your first thread, you will find yourself getting into the swing of expressing yourself. This isn't really your first thread, we think of this as more of your welcome mat.
