As for making an opinionated first post - no, you wouldn't get that from me. I take the view that I'll end up flaunting some opinion or another soon enough!

To be open and honest though, my hot buttons are animal welfare and social justice. I'm also an atheist; I'd describe myself as anti-theism rather than anti-theist.

I'm sorry that I didn't respond to this before. No, AUSloth, I'm not looking forward to it: I live in London and - as all who have travelled here will attest - our transport system struggles to cope with normal traffic. I dread what will happen in a few weeks time. Only two hours ago I read a notice in our vet's surgery that their operation is likely to be affected as the team there will have trouble getting to work. I fear for the emergency services and for Londoners simply trying to get on with their lives.
