It's a sad, sad world when these types of things happen.

And the animals who killed her didn't even give her the decency of a quick death.

There is no decency in so called "Honour Killings". Quick death or not..

Authorities are seeking a life sentence for this bastard of a father.

I can't comprehend at all how people can do things like this. I mean I can intellectually understand it, I just can't empathise with the attackers at all. I can't come close to any kind of emotional understanding. I don't believe in "evil" but I guess how I feel about these kinds of actions is what people mean when they call things evil.

If I wanted to help people like this girl (ie. fleeing from such ludicrous persecution) does anybody know who I should be giving my money to?

It is phenomenal in today's day and age that we still have this sort of attitude! Words can not possibly describe how wrong this is on so many levels!

I despair that we as humans (collectively) will ever throw the religious shackles off.

There are not "Honour" killings. There is no honour involved. "Culture-related murder" seems a more appropriate term.

Similarly, why is "ethnic cleansing" used when the victims are not dirty, and the perpetrators are not clean.

Ever since that nasty little house-painter with the iconic moustache, and probably before, these sly euphemisms for horrid deeds have been making small of crimes.

I don't know much about so-called "honour killings"; but this I do know: I hate it. I hate every part of it.
