OK, I think you miss my point entirely . I was not saying "do not appreciate architecture (or any art) on religious themes". Putting it very crudely, I was saying the architecture is not attributable to the religion rather than to the money they had.

As an example, the Sydney Opera House is not a design triumph for Askin and the NSW government of the time, but rather to the designers, engineers and builders, given the people of NSW had decided to supply the money. The NSW government made no advances whatsoever in architecture or engineering, and fairly rightly they are hardly remembered for it because it was something purchased by the people. In a case closer to religion, The several Bavarian castles of Ludwig represent his mis-spending of other people's money, not a contribution to architecture and engineering by Ludwig. So, you are welcome to admire these things as do I, but not so welcome to imply credit to the immediate financiers who in many cases were doing it for their own satisfaction with extorted money. Does that distinguish my point more clearly?

It wasn't really my intent to praise religion for building, or at least, that was not meant to be a point, but I do understand what you mean.

Yes, of course Rayne, I was just making a point. JKR is a talented author with no obvious mental illnesses. Some of the authors of the bible on the other hand..............

Sorry DBD, I didn't mean come across cunty..the Pokey Tounge has failed me. I meant the statement in good (failed) humour. Hope you didn't take it to heart.

I know Rayne, None taken. I did spy the wee smilie thingie. [Hugs]

My interest in biblical literature is when I am in the mood for a violent tale- the Wibble is good at that, it makes "Terminator" as mild as "Annie of Green Gables" by comparison. Someone should make some action movies out of it....oh wait, its been done!
