Default Big List for newbie atheists?

The forum has a Great Big List for theists when they join the forum. How about one for newbie atheists joining the forum? This might decrease incidences of mods and older members having to mentor newer members into the ways and etiquette of the forums such as burden of proof, proper posting etiquette including introducing a topic/article, why the topic/article is relevant meaningful to you, why you think it's relevant here etc. We've had a few newbie posters seemingly disappear after disagreements in forum discussions on their welcome posts and I just though if we had a list for them to read and remember (a big one being: challenging beliefs does not = personal attacks) it might reduce incidences of people leaving before they begin.

Ah thankyou! I was under the impression it was aimed at theists. My mistaken conclusion came from a forum sigs advertising that theists read the great big list before commenting.

Thanks for clarifying for me

Creationists may not like this, but...

...from my understanding, that is more-or-less what it originally evolved from.

And as we've seen, faulty and non-constructive thinking is not the sole preserve of theists.

All new members are explicitly directed to the relevant forum rules, including TGBL, during the signup process and within their AFA Admin Welcome post. Unfortunately, they can't be forced to read 'em, much less to understand or abide by them.

Don't mind me, just musing.

That sounds as likely as a big wind blowing through a printer's shop and assembling a dictionary. hmmph.

Ok, I have updated ny sig. I'm one that had "theist please read....".

May I suggest the "theist only" items in the list be put in a theist only section. e.g. Understand, the bible does not prove god, and your book does not prove your faith.

I have clicked the link to 'the big list' in the intro thread for new people and it isn't working. Any suggestions?
