Why is it that it seems so much easier to undo these changes than it did to win them in the first place? And I wonder what it is that the ACL is holding over Dipshit Newman's head that gives them control over his strings?

I wonder about the AG's level of indoctrination. Seriously jail time for same sex couples, singles or defacto heterosexuals under 2 years who want children?! The government is putting restrictions on a legislative level defining who can have children and how they can have them?

The LNP are broken. The same as the now infested federal Libs. Manny of their members are inhuman, bigoted, and immoral.

I just spent the day in Nuremberg, I visited Hitler's Colosseum*, Germany is littered with the remains of Nazi's and their extremism. FYI I am not meaning to Godwin this thread, but the guide I had through Nuremberg was half German half Chicagoian gentleman and he emphasised the point, that there was a cult around Hitler and he made himself out to be the messiah and he intentionally marginalised the disabled, Jews, Roma Gypsy's, Gays, Poles, some Slavs and Russians and pikkowioki help you if your skin was darker than a Sicilians.

*Hitler's Colosseum was modeled on the one in Rome and was meant to be 50% bigger, it had seating for 50,000 and was intended to be finished in marble and was to be used for 1 week per year. It was meant to have a full roof and the skylight was meant to focus on the speakers stand. The resource usage was obscene as the intentions.

Campbell Newman Government axes Queensland solar energy scheme, nation's largest

Quote:
AUSTRALIA'S biggest solar energy scheme is dead in the water, torpedoed by the withdrawal of funding by the Newman Government.

The State Government is pulling $75 million out of a renewable energy power project, effectively killing off up to 400 jobs.
Regional Queensland was set to be home to one of the biggest combination solar and gas power plants in the world under a $1.2 billion scheme, a joint Federal-State Government and private partnership.
The Solar Dawn project would have used Australian-pioneered technology and transformed Chinchilla and the western Darling Downs into the nation's mixed-energy capital.

But the Liberal National Party has found a way to back out of an earlier Bligh government agreement and halt its contribution. Premier Campbell Newman signalled soon after winning the March state election that he would look at pulling the plug on the $75 million investment if he could do it without risk to taxpayers.

Minister for Energy and Water Supply Mark McArdle wrote to federal Energy Minister Martin Ferguson last week to confirm he had cut the Queensland contribution. Mr McArdle was understood to have told Mr Ferguson Solar Dawn was unable to meet the State Government's funding agreement. As a result, the agreement between the two governments was "terminated".

Mr McArdle apparently expressed "disappointment" at the outcome and hoped the project would still work with federal backing.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard had committed $464 million, saying the project would support Labor's carbon tax and keep the environment clean.

But George St insiders said the LNP was able to stop the contribution because Solar Dawn and the state-owned electricity utility Ergon were unable to negotiate a power purchase agreement.

Construction on the Solar Dawn project - about 300km west of Brisbane - was due to start in 2013 and be completed within three years.
It was expected to create 300 new jobs, indirectly support up to 100 jobs and save 500,000 tonnes of carbon emissions a year. It would have powered the energy of 70,000 homes.

Mr Ferguson yesterday described it as a disappointing development.
"The Solar Dawn project offers Queensland the opportunity to be at the forefront of solar thermal technology and home to one of the largest solar power stations in the world," he said.

"These opportunities have to be grabbed, but the Queensland Government seems content to let them slip by." He said the future of the project would be determined by the independent Australian Renewable Energy Agency.

I'm a fan of Newman's razor at the bottom of the article.

Abbott's Gay Sister to run for Lord Mayor of Sydney

So the sister of Tony Abbott who came out recently as gay and supports same sex marriage is running for Lord Mayor of Sydney. I don't know about other gays but I need a bit more than someone saying "I support same sex marriage" to vote for them. Actions speaks louder than words.

Quote:
Tony Abbott’s openly gay sister Christine Forster has been tipped to run for Liberal pre-selection for the position of Sydney Lord Mayor.

The Wentworth Courier has reported two sources from the Liberal Party as claiming Forster could challenge current Lord Mayor Clover Moore or possible assist the Liberal’s in gaining more council seats.

The Courier quoted a Liberal party member as saying Forster’s “star power” would be too great for Moore to ignore.

"I think she could be a huge candidate for us and certainly show what a broad church the Liberal Party really is," the member said.

In April, Forster made headlines when she appeared in an interview with The Australian and publicly announced she is in a relationship with Virginia Edwards.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has endorsed his sister’s move into politics and said she has the right credentials for the position of Lord Mayor.

"I'm proud of Chris. I think she's a terrific person. She's been very interested in politics for a long time now,” he said.

"She's been a member of the Liberal Party. She's certainly helped on campaigns. She's a journalist of many years standing.

"She's been a community activist and if she wants to have a go, I think she should be encouraged and I think she'd be a terrific councillor on Sydney city council."

The Liberal Party has previously selected openly gay men in pre-selection for Lord Mayor including Shayne Mallard who earlier this month stepped aside from his position as candidate for Lord Mayor.
Mallard is vying for the state seat of Sydney which is expected to be vacated by Lord Mayor Clover Moore after legislation passed preventing current MPs from holding a seat in local government.

Mallard will be competing for the seat against Greens councillor Chris Harris who is the second councillor to announce his resignation to run for the seat of Sydney.

Harris said the Greens would gain most of the votes that would usually have gone to Moore.

"Sydney has been well served by grassroots representation with Clover as the local member," he said.

"When she resigns, the Greens are the ideal party to fill the big shoes that she has left behind.

"Clover shares many Green values and has provided a type of representation that cannot be provided by the Liberals."
