This was a significant theme last night. She appears to mean it. Thanks for that link - that explains something for me. It was with reference to that poor boy that she made the heaven reference. Your link throws a different light on it.

She also spoke of her pre-fame childhood, and was very encouraging towards kids in the audience (and there were many!) who might be being bullied.

I went to her concert last Thursday and it was theatrically excellent and well played out. In the gaps between songs she would talk about her pre-fame days and how hard she worked to get where is she and what it was like being bullied as a kid. Regardless of whether she has good music or not, she's done and is doing many great things for many people. She's established foundations, worked hard to get famous enough and influential enough to be seen by millions of people and have a good solid fanbase to create a pulpit to spread love and acceptance and fight for equality.

If spreading love and acceptance of diversity "would corrupt Indonesia's youth" then I would hate to see what being a bad influence on them means..

Keep it under your hats, but I dont mind a bit of Gaga. I wish my 13yr old did too so I had an excuse to see the concert.

No one needs an excuse, only money and to obsessively hit refresh on your computer in vain attempts to get tickets before they sell out in 2 minutes (took me three days of doing that at release time to get them)

I was dismissive of Gaga, but reasoned if she pisses off Muslim conservatives, then she can't be all bad! In fact I am liking her more.

Well, it is more a case of an old fart paying no mind to what the teenies are listening to these days!
