Decided to go do some fishing today. relax and all that.

I had the line in and I was looking around the banks of the river and no less than 30 metres away was this guy. high and dry.

Nice "gotcha-gecko" ( or snapping handbag as Mrs A would say) but watch out it'll pinch your fish

Spangled Drongo dicrurus bracteatus hunting insects in the backyard. We get up to 5 of them at a time.

Getting heckled by some competition, a Lewin's Honeyeater meliphaga lewinii.(I think )

Just noticed the first of our psycho-cactus buds have burst out. Pretty flower but they don't last long.

Cool the ones here come close to the house but are are way to shy to enter a roofed area.

The plovers in our yard have hatched two of the cutest little fluff balls. Will try to get pics tomorrow, but mum and dad plover are a bit cranky.
They have been giving the small fluffy dog hell as soon as he pokes his nose out the back

Soo cute Mr B
The last couple of years something has got to their nest and broken the eggs, maybe rats or foxes, but this year they hatched both. I had to shoo them off the track and even at a couple of days old they are feisty little things.

Heh, little puffballs with legs is right listen for the change to "stranger danger" in the parents call and see them scoot for cover.
Keep an eye out for your pooch they have a nasty spur on their wings and are fearless, assuming its these critters

Pics would be cool.

Yep that's them AUS they do have a nasty disposition. They are off up the paddock today but I'm hoping they will come back closer to home so I can get some pics.
Small fluffy dog is nowhere near as brave as he used to be, they bark back
