I don't have a problem with mice; I use a trackpad myself.
![]() But I remember those traps back in the day I was on biology field trips. We were supposed to trap, measure and release voles but those dastardly mice always beat the voles to the food. We used Mars Bars but peanut butter is supposed to be better.

Puppy, you know he probably beat you back into the house dont you
I too hate using baits. If anyone has ever seen the way something dies after it picks up a bait, they will know why. I lost a beautiful little dog to a fox bait last year. It was horrendous.Hell, I cant even spray the MILLIONS of icky black spiders we have at the moment. and the damn things just run straight back up to the windows when you brush them off.We however had to bait about three years ago due to the amount of mice around. Our pussy cat had 11 stacked up in the lounge room one night when we came home. They were running across the floors in front of us, and chewing the electrical cables. But that was a plague. For the most part, I like the use of a small, inquisitive dog. He seems to be keeping them away, as I have never seen him actually catch one, so maybe they just dont like him being here, and stay away. He has also move the bush rats in the garden along. I also stuff steel wool and expanda foam into any obvious gaps under sinks and stuff. hopefully there was just the one at your place

Lots of green is nice Puppy. We have lots. We also have lots of mice and bush rats and spiders and slaters and millipedes and centipedes and spiders and roos and spiders, but mostly spiders, and they all like to come into the house. Well, not the roos.
Oh and possums, lots of possums, and they come into the house too. One got into the wall not long ago, and fried itself on the wiring. Now what would make a possum that lives on possum type food think that those white plasticy things would taste good? anyway, we didnt find it for about 2 weeks, it was in a place in the building we dont often go into, whole big house thing, and by then it was a bit wiffy. Liquid possum is not something I would recommend. And that is what happens when you bait mice. They die. Under the fridge and behind the stove and other places you cant get to easily. |

I have used these for years around my aviaries. They are very easy to use, taking the yellow end off and placing a tiny bit of peanut paste on the inner lip. The rat runs down the tunnel, and tilts it so the front pops up and closes the front end. You can get them from most hardware stores and they are only a few dollars each.
