Default links to things from GAC speeches

Well I had a great time at the convention
However when This little wolf sharpens his teeth of reason onto the backside of belief, I really need to be able back up stuff I quote.

Last night I was challenged regarding the issue of bible belt in United states
And murder and crime rate.
criticism included correlation does not equal cause
and was variables such as low social economic conditions
( I am thinking religion might keep people poor )

I know this subject was raised at the convention
and would love to send my friends links to studies that are of scientific standard that are well constructed that I can then show my friends

Then I can ask them to provide the evidence of the same standard for their position .
last night over dinner I was being accused of being arrogant extreme
So providing clear evidence would help
THANKS FOR A GREAT WEEKEND !

Hi, gumboo.

This is a message sent to all who find their way to these forums.

We like people, and we like facts too!

We're friendly but we're skeptical, and if somebody calls for proof, it's not an accusation. Only the strong ideas thrive here: we try to respect people. (We do not tolerate personal abuse.)

You may already have visited these other handy places:
* New Member Information
* Welcome from AFA president
* For those interested in learning, I recommend the Atheism Resource Thread maintained by Fearless.
* And a quick look at our reserved spot for belief-based discussion, Fantasy Island, includes The Great Big List, a sort-of "things we've seen before" for those of faith, and general rules of argument for the forum.

If you've got questions, please ask. Moderators have red name tags, but many of our friendly people may have the answers you need.

Enjoy the forums. We hope to see plenty from you in discussions.

Have fun.

What search terms have you tried so far, gumboo? I would have thought a little experimentation should bring up some stuff in google, or links from wiki pages.

Welcome gumboo. I do recall it being mentioned at the GAC also but can't recall the specific talk. As the videos of the GAC won't be released for a while, google might be your friend at this point.

Someone else on here might be able to point you somewhere specific off the top of their head to save you some time though?

Sorry I can't be more helpful but it's great you're seeking to back up your argument with cold hard evidence, if only those fundies would do the same!

i sent this from my iPad

If you can find websites with data on rates of religiosity you can compare with reliable crime states here
