Of whom? If you are referring to the species Homo Sapiens Sapiens; yes.

Every human society would cease to function if people told the truth even a lot of the time.

An impressive list, Matt.

As it seems we are all really hostages to the religious, however, there's one problem I can see.

When the hostage-takers inform you that they have decided to agree to your demands, doesn't that mean that they'll be breaking Rule No 1 ?
