Default Internet security

This has the potential to go right off the rails unfortunately.

All I want to know is what security suite are people finding best right now?

I've been using Nortons but it is big and I'm thinking it might be time for a change on this new machine I'm just setting up.

Remove nortons, it is a cpu and ram hog.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials. You know what you are getting, it is supported and up there in the top products.

MSE definitely. Fast, unobtrusive, highly recommended in technical circles.
It does what an anti-virus should do - it just works.

Nothing serious. Fully featured GIS and image databasing solutions first (I mean a real one not something like that Picassa shit) and we'll sort out the rest later.

I moved to Norton after AVG fucked my system over. Believe it or not it was an improvement.
