Default Creation Museum

http://creationmuseum.org/

Has anyone else seen this?

"Biblical history is the key to understanding dinosaurs. Explore many of these amazing creatures along with fossilized dinosaur eggs, a triceratops skeleton casting, and much more!" - um really? I must have a printing error in my version as I've never seen a reference to dinosaurs in the bible.

"This walk through history is the centerpiece of the Creation Museum and features amazing scientific and biblical answers for the world we live in today. Witness the true time line of the universe unfold through the 7 C’s of History—illuminating God’s redemptive plan throughout history." - OMFG

There are some who argue that Behemoth is a dinosaur of the Apatosaurus/Brachiosaur variety, rather than an imaginary monster.

I see they have camel rides at the petting zoo. Not how I remember petting.

I don't get why they think humans put saddles on dinosaurs and rode around on them.

I love it. I absolutely have to see this place myself. The only problem will be I don't really want to pay money that they can use in distributing this crap.

We had a petting zoo here when I was a gossoon. It had koalas, wombats and kangaroos.

Funny,I don't remember platypus, koalas, kangaroos or wombats in the Bibble either.

Is there another group on the planet more offensively, willfully, pig ignorant than new earth creationists? (serious question)

When the ideists were here, one of my comments was on the way they used stock creationist arguments despite their claim of reason, abandoning only the biblical text. I had not realised until I read the PZ link that the ideists "same facts, different conclusion" canard is also drawn from the same source.

If only I had the logical opportunity to say my respect for them has fallen further but the mathematical properties of zero can not be avoided.

This question seems easy to answer on the face of it, but turns out not to be so. Are we talking Christian Young Earth Creationists? Muslim YEC's? I imagine there are probably Jewish YEC's out there somewhere. How about from other traditions? I've not come across any as yet, but I'd almost be willing to bet that you could find, if you looked, hardcore adherents to various Australian Aboriginal creationist viewpoints (although they quite possibly wouldn't classify as "YEC" given that we're talking about people and culture that go back 40-60 thousand years, and whilst the factor of ten is in there, that's really fuck-all considering the actual age of the planet at 4.6 billion years - it's still youngish). Or how about Hindus? They've got a rip-snorter of a tale, been around (and modified) for quite some time too, but includes longer timescales for creation and other magic bullshit than the Christians allow. Dramatically longer. Yet still pig ignorant.

I'm curtailing this now, in the hopes of not killing the thread. Seems every time I post an essay people run the fuck away. In future I'll restrict myself to a couple of lines of snark.
