    With Turnbull's popularity plummeting, Tony Abbott may be realizing that the attempt to put a "progressive" face on the Liberal Party while retaining its neo-conservative positions has failed, and is positioning himself for a comeback as the real face of the Liberal Party.
    I thought TA was the real feces of the LP.

    Picture Abbott wearing the mask of the Norse god Loki. Although wanting to distance himself from the misogyny, Tony openly endorses Trump's ideation as representative of original and authentic Conservatism.

    And Trump could really go and shoot somebody in 5th avenue, and Tony would say "oh well that's nothing, shit happens"

    Tony may very well become leader of the Libs again, but it will all but ensure a massive Labor majority after the next election, which could be sooner rather than later if disgruntled moderate liberals jump ship over their party being hijacked by the religious right.

    I don't think many moderates are likely to jump ship. A
    by-election or two in the right place on the other hand ...

    Big news today;

    Tony Abbott falls off fire truck!

    Yes I kid you not, this was the headline, given the choice between the vitriol of the american political scene and this, I'm not really sure which I prefer, can it get any more inane?

    I saw him running in full fireman kit.

    Couldn't decide between reality show or killing myself.
