It would have been less worse if it weren't so totally absent of sex.

So, never read Bored of the Rings then? Featuring those memorable characters Dildo Bugger and Frito Bugger, also with Legolam, Goodgulf Greyteeth and many others!

I take umbrage at this denigration of the middle earth creation and i’d like to remind readers of the literary quality of the work. Alas, like a Simon and Garfunkel hit, it may now seem a tad trite and overcooked but that ought not distract from the mastery contingent to its time.

    And hobbits are awesome...so...shut up

I expected better of the Harvard Lampoon than such a farrago of proper-name jokes and clches.

If only Mel Brooks had given LOTR the same treatment he gave Star Wars when he did Spaceballs.

Yes there's an art to lampooning, Spaceballs was an epic lampoon, and I can't help thinking that every original sequel to the original Planet of the Apes was also a lampoon, however unintentional it was at the time. Bored of the Rings wasn't particularly good.

It is highly distressing that the documentary "Planet of the Apes" was treated to such lampooning. Does no one respect facts anymore?

Just stick to the idea that science tests falsifiable hypotheses to destruction.

    I did have BOTR.

I left all my material possessions behind when I went further north and joined True Vine. Books, records, '73 butterscotch Tele, valve amp, Yamaha XS 650.

@Strato: We can do that monks bashing themselves in the head thing, like in Python and the Grail.

Won't undo shit, but at least you'll know you've suffered.

So, you went elsewhere, did some of those things that you've been pulled up for here, and people reacted in ways not dissimilar to what's been seen here.

You arrived there with an initial premise which was arbitrary, without clear reasoning, and of no discernible use, and which required a visit to en external site.

You dropped said premise on the table with a thud and waited for traffic to flood your site.

    Your expectations were not met.

What's to say, except that I love the idea of "shorty homosexuality" - I will always picture Sam and Frodo thus.
