Default Apologies, but I need to unload.

Wanted a rant, and this seemed the best place to do it. I'll be doing a blog post on this in the near future, but I need to vent a bit.

A couple of evenings ago, in the throes of the #MeToo hashtag and very many of my women friends coming out in public as having experiences that nobody should have to go through, at all ages from childhood on up, I had a mini rant.

Now, I don't think there's anything unclear about my intent there, but some decided to interject with comments like this:

    And irrelevancies like this:

That's not the worst of it, though. One of my favourite people on Twitter, and one of the loveliest guys I know anywhere, retweeted in support, and that's where the rape apologetic began.

Now, I won't go into any more detail, but this has now been going on ever since then, with quite a few people getting in on the act. I'm happy that all my friends there have behaved exactly as I'd have expected and piled on these morons, but there's still something really fucking disturbing about the degree to which some people - and not just men - were giving it the 'what was she wearing' bullshit. The above was an atheist. We'll be coming back to him.

Here's one woman, along with my response:

Anyhoo, the aforementioned atheist has now been at it for two days, give or take. I thought I'd taken the wind out of his sails when I made a new meme:

Unfortunately, that didn't end it, and he's being going strong ever since. No matter what example using his own logic is brought against him, he just bats it away or dismisses it as deliberately using an extreme example just to make it look silly. I even gave him a trademark lesson in logic:

He conveniently skipped over that one, twice, and is still at it.

I'm completely at a loss. So I thought I'd come here and say the following.

    FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCC CKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There. Feel a bit better now. Haven't done a stroke of constructive writing in two days because of this bullshit.

    Thanks for that.

Sometimes, the atheist you meet will have only freed part of his/her mind.

Indeed. This one seems pretty impervious to logic, though.

We've got one of those recently arrived here.

One has to appreciate the sheer immensity of the challenge.

This type of behavior is not uncommon in the atheist community. Far from it. It is one of the reasons places like WWR exist. It is why women have withdraw from so many online atheist groups. We are sick of it.
Because we deal with it all the time.

Wasn't unexpected, I am really surprised he lasted as long as he did, but I suppose when you suspend someone a surfeit of evidence is better than not enough.

Scientifically, it's best to work with a decent-sized sample.

Also, it's suspension, not a ban. There will be a number of opportunities for reason to prevail.
