Yes: ~62%. No ~38%, on almost 80% turnout. Yes wins in all states and territories. Yes wins in 133 Cth electorates, no in only 17 electorates.

Highest "yes" electorates - Melbourne, Sydney, Wentworth . Highest "no" electorate - Blaxland? western Sydney

    A crushing "yes" victory

So happy that it's Yes, so happy that it's decisive.

Now comes the hard part, getting it through parliament.

    What now, my (equal) love?

    Large truckload of "If"s....
If the government succeeds in passing marriage equality legislation by December 3, same-sex couples will be able to legally marry before Christmas.

I just saw a funny tweet.

Remember when Tony Abbott said that 40% no would be a moral victory?
Good. Abbott can't even claim that.

It's also good to see that the majority of electorates voted yes, so it wasn't just a popular victory, it's also a representative victory. 133 of 150 electorates voted yes.

I should've known the bigots were just the loudest dickheads but to be honest I was worried we would get a no win. Now if we have to deal with freedom to discriminate dickheads though and they have way too much political clout so I can see this getting even more nasty.

It's a joyous day, it's a sweet sweet taste of cool clear water after such a long drought. Trump and Brexit were grave injuries and they continue to bleed. It's a tragedy that we flinched even before this vote, fearing another cataclysm. But that's swept aside now because it's such a resounding victory. I really hope it is a turning point that puts the regressive loony right back in its cage.

But the joy comes from the feeling that we have carried out a collective expression of love - love for our gay brothers and sisters - literally in my case, as I anticipate attending the wedding of my wonderful brother and his lovely partner.

Now to dance and sing and continue to seek justice, to appropriately punish the malign forces who have tried to stop this. Abbott was their figurehead, he must be pursued mercilessly in the political and public arena. It's for him and his ilk, those who would misuse power to deny us our rights, that we reserve our anger, and on them we seek vengeance. For the people like my silly conservative uncle, I still feel the love. We'll try to win them over, appeal to their better angels, and gently laugh at them when they don't do the right thing.

Just think, if all the 20% who didn't vote had voted no, it still would have passed. Fuck yeah!!!!!
