    Default "Dropper blocked"?

Suddenly. I keep getting this warning from Avast every time I open an app I've been using for over two years.

    The application is Undercover XP.

Full system scans by Avast and Spybot -Search And Destroy pick up nothing. I don't really know what a 'dropper' is,only that it's apparently nasty.

Could the warning be a false positive? Is there another(free) application I can use to check?

    Thanks guys,will try both.

Addendum; Mr B:tried 'Housecall', (thank you) no threats found. I think I'll look for an Avast forum

Seamus: have a go at ESET's online scanner as well. The antivirus software alone has a high rate of successful catches so I would not be surprised if the scanner performs similarly as well.

My guess as to what a "dropper" is - it is an app that loves to drop some kind of malicious software without the user's consent. Not quite sure why invention of such a term was deemed necessary as that pretty much seems to count as a trojan.
