How would Hawking be rated against the greatest minds in science? I know he is one of them but lining up Einstein,Darwin and the likes of Newton etc, where would Hawking be?

well to put on a 'scale' is darn hard without some definition of what that scale would be, he's darn good, however we have a lot of scientists just as clever, but without the name, as they don't have the disability along with it. Even Hawking says this.

needless to say he is way up there in the brainiacs on earth atm. trying to compare that to previous discoveries is hard ... to say the least.
