Hello, I am relatively new here and totally incompetent with computers, could someone please tell me how to insert sections of other posts into my own post. IE to respond to specific statement without posting the whole post every time? I have pressed the multiple quote icon but don't know what to do after that. thank you. Bruce

Hi mate,

All you have to do is, on the posts you want to quote, click the multi-quote button (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif) - and when it is selected, it will become red (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/buttons/multiquote_on.gif)

Then go to the top or bottom of the thread and click on the "Post-Reply" button (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/buttons/reply.gif) and your quoted messages will appear in a text box where you can enter text.

EDIT: Prote beat me to it.

A summary of it operation can be found here (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/faq.php?s=&do=search&q=multi+quote&match=all&titlesonly=0) in the FAQ section.

Thank you for the advice I am giving it a try now.

I see you know how to change font, size and add bold. It is common to only use these features for hi-lighting a point and for easy reading for all members it is preferable to leave the text as default.[/quote]

Yes I usually do this in consideration of the visually challenged such as myself, then I don't need to put on the glasses to read or type. Is this bad etiquette?http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

You can do different things to suit what you want to post.

The quote button http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/buttons/quote.gif will select one post to reply to.

The multi quote will select in the order you want them in as well and will toggle on and off (red = on http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/buttons/multiquote_on.gif and blue= off http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif) when it is clicked.

You can also try to wrap text in quote brackets ie. text which is what I did at the start of this post.
Obvioiusly spell quote correctly, or you can use this http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/images/editor/quote.gif after selecting the text and it will do it for you automatically.

It is sorta bad form to use bold and larger text as some find it harder to read, just as you do with the smaller text. CAPS means shouting.

Edit: Why have you two got bigger buttons than me? That can't be right?
