What can we put there to replace the GAC banner?

Maybe something like a montage of famous Atheists past and present. If I could get a good list of names and images I would give it a crack...

Better still to bring a bit of fun into it we could run a competition for people to design banners and have some sort of silent vote or poll to select the winner.

What about changing the banner on regular basis? Surely something automatic can be set up? That would have the effect of people actually seeing the thing and give a huge choice.

Members could submit logos,banners, cartoons,aphorisms. (EG "Religion:man's attempt to communicate with the weather")

Having a static display means I rarely notice it,just as I rarely notice stobie poles. :D

I think that's a great idea Seamus. I also like Fearless's idea.

I hope the Powers that Be will look favourably upon those suggestions.

it's quite easy to do what Seamus says, tho undoubtably the Powers the Be would want to vet what was put forward as it would be construed as being given the a-ok by the AFA.
The reaction to the convention in the media and other groups gives you a bit of an idea how this stuff really needs to be thought about, as simple off the cuff remarks that many could make, can be made into all out reconstructions of the atheist position.

How about the Quotes that were being displayed on the screens at the convention? Those could fit into a Gif or Flash Animation (Although I'm not a big fan of flash banners)

Or it could just load a new one (not animated text) with each page refresh.
