Thank you so much to Richard Dawkins and Kylie.
I felt a bit of a twit ambushing Richard for a photo after he had such a long day, and tiring tour, but I decided to take the chance. Kylie was kind enough to assist and take the camera for me, looks like a great shot.
Once I get home I will download it and send it (with some copy) to the local rag. Believe me in this town a local resident having their photo taken with such a major international figure should be big news ....... however, experience tells me the chances of the editor printing it are somewhere between zero and nil.
The locals rarely go anywhere (much to scary for them) but I daresay if one had attended the World Religion thing and sent in a photo of themselves with George Pell that would have been a front page feature.
Over the years I have ‘suffered’ for my beliefs (being marginalised and abused, losing a job, home etc.) mind you hearing about the real suffering of women like Taslima Nasrin puts it into perspective, but today makes up for it a bit – I have earned that photo I reckon.
