The Saturday program is very full because we have been fortunate enough to secure a wonderful line-up of speakers, all of whom are volunteering their time for the cause of rational thought.
A significant majority of Saturday attendees at the Convention are NOT attending the Saturday Night Dinner. If we shortened the program to accommodate those who wish to change clothes between the Saturday day session and the Dinner it would lessen the opportunity for all attendees, including the majority who are not attending the Dinner, to hear from the presenters and participate in the Q&A.
We deliberately did not set a strict dress code for the Dinner (it is simply smart casual at a minimum) and noted that people may change or not change clothes between the two events to provide flexibility for attendees. If people wish to change for Dinner and miss either the end of the Saturday session or the start of Dinner that is their prerogative.
The program balances the many competing preferences of people attending different Convention sessions as well as MCEC bookings and the logistics of putting the Convention together. We realise we can’t please everyone but consider we have made the right decision regarding the program based on all relevant factors.
Thanks
