GAC Social Events Calendar

I've had a bit of a look around and noticed that there were a lot of events planned around and during the convention, but nobody had collected them all in one place.

I've started putting this calendar together, but for it to be of any use, we'll need to start getting all the other side events listed on it.

So, if anyone has an event they want me to put up there, just post the details on this thread and I'll put it on the calendar.

There is already a calender at the bottom of the main page for this forum. I have already posted the Dan Barker's Tour Down Under events into the calender. Several debates and lectures.

Unfortunately like many, I'm in and out of Melbourne for the convention. So don't really have much time either side.

Thanks Ken, I'll add those events to the google calendar.

My hope is that for those with smartphones etc, the google calendar is usually pretty easy to synch to the phone's calendar, so people will receive active reminders throughout the month to tell them what's going on.

During the conference, this will hopefully act as a beeper for social events, so people can get a reminder of what's about to happen and not miss something if they get caught up doing something else.

At the last TAM that I was at (TAM6) the forums had a fairly comprehensive calendar, but it didn't really synch with mobile devices and we ended up relying on a whiteboard in the main convention hall. I'd like to see this conference to be a little more tech friendly.

It's probably a good idea anyway, I doubt the conventional mobile systems have much staying power now that you can skype on your mobile, plus you can do so many other amazing things with them!
